The LEC is back! We've taken a look at the start of the LPL, as well as the kick-off of the LCK, but now it's finally time for the LEC to show off their skill with the start of their spring split.

This will be another start without a crowd, much like 2021. Hopefully, by the time we get to the Summer Split, we'll be able to have fans in the LEC studio once more.

Who Are The Favorites on Day 1?

The first match of the LEC is probably one of the most exciting ones of the day. Vitality will be showing off their star-studded roster in a battle against the 2021 LEC Summer champions, MAD Lions.

Vitality vs. MAD Lions

As mentioned, Vitality has built a monster team in the off-season with Perkz in the mid lane, Alphari in the top lane and Carzzy in the bot lane. The MAD Lions, on the other hand, lost a few key players in the off-season. Therefore it looks like Vitality is favored in this match-up.

Rogue vs. SK Gaming

Rogue might have lost their star ADC to Team Liquid, but this team is still the clear favorite in this match-up. SK Gaming could surprise fans, but it is highly unlikely that they'll be able to touch Rogue. Though, if the new jungler Malrang falters, SK Gaming will have a chance.

Excel vs. G2

G2 might have rebuilt their team, but that doesn't mean that they're a bad team in 2022. Jankos and Caps stayed, while the rest of the squad and coaching staff are new. Excel went the opposite route, sticking almost completely to their 2021 roster, but will it be enough against G2? We do think G2 has the edge over Excel in this match-up.

Misfits vs. Astralis

Misfits are the clear favorites in this match. Astralis is the team most analysts have placed last in the 2022 LEC Spring Split Power Rankings and while Misfits aren't part of the top tier teams, they do look to have a better lineup than the Danish team.

Fnatic vs. Team BDS

Team BDS took over the spot of Schalke04 esports and kept two of the players. Fnatic is the favorite in this game though, since the team is considered one of the favorites to win the Spring Split and to make it to the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational.
