Earlier this year Schalke 04 esports announced their departure from the LEC. After struggling financially in the Bundesliga, the historic football club had to close its gates to their esports endeavors, leaving room for a new challenger in the LEC – Team BDS.

The Swiss-owned team has finally announced their roster ahead of the 2022 LEC season. Will this be a championship-winning squad or will the team have to gell and get used to the LEC environment?

What is the 2022 LEC Roster for Team BDS?

The team has announced a 6-man roster with two bot-laners. None of these are import players from China or Korea, making this a completely European squad. Some names might be familiar to you guys, eh?

  • Top Lane: Adam "Adam" Maanane
  • Jungle: Jakub " Cinkrof" Rokicki
  • Mid Lane: Ilias "NUCLEARINT" Bizriken
  • Bot Lane: Hicham "Jaylink" Malki/Matthew Charles "xMatty" Coombs
  • Support: Dino "LIMIT" Tot

Adam has been quite vocal this off-season due to his spat with Fnatic bot laner Upset. The rest of the team has some familiar faces from the Schalke 04 squad in 2021, as well as a few Karmine Corp players.

Who is Team BDS' Coaching Staff?

Team BDS has some of the most well-known coaching staff in the LEC. Former G2 head coach Fabian "GrabbZ" Lohmann will be at the helm. He helped G2 win the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational and make it to the 2019 World Championship finals, where they lost to FunPlus Phoenix

Of course, other ex-G2 staff members join GrabbZ, like head analyst Christopher "Duffman" Duff. Just judging by the analyst and coaching staff, Team BDS could make it in the LEC. Now we just have to wait until January 14 to know whether our prediction is right.
