League of Legends has so much unique and interesing lore. Today we're going to be taking one specific champion under the microscope and going over the unique lore of none other than Cho'Gath whose LoL lore might be short, but is quite unique.

Last year, Riot revealed some new information on the Void, which means that the world of Runeterra is expanding once more. With the upcoming LoL MMORPG also being canon we need to know as much about Runeterra as possible bore it releases.

Who or What is Cho'Gath?

The monster lives between the worlds. For some, it is the unknown, some call it the outside. The wise know it as the void.

In its lore article at Riot Games, Cho'Gath is described as an alien-like creature. Full of Malice and Violence it consumes everything to grow stronger and bigger. As a perfect expression of the Void’s desire to consume all life, Cho'Gath feeds on every living creature and causes even the bravest to cower in fear of him.

Cho'Gath is a creature born from the void. Hence he is a voidborn. Voidborns are creatures, that the Watchers of the void, an ancient race of Runeterra, created to consume all information regarding the mythic land. Yes, you heard right. They technically try to consume Runeterra as a whole, to have nothing left but the void.

Who are the Watchers?

The Watchers have their origin in the Void itself. However, they were able to break through the barrier that protects Runeterra from the intermediate world. As superior beings, they roamed the lands of mortals, always searching for answers as to what the Void was and why the multiple worlds existed.

Anyone who stood in the way of these powerful beings was wiped out. In case you were wondering where the Iceborn came from. The Watchers created them on their journey through the Freljord.

In order to pursue their mission, they created the Voidborn. These supernatural monsters have always tried to create more cracks in the barrier between the worlds and free their masters.

Legend has it that the inhabitants of Freljord, with the help of Ornn, managed to imprison the Watchers in the eternal ice, which now lies beneath the Howling Abyss.

How big is the Evergrowing Cho'Gath?

Cho'Gath’s complex biology quickly converts matter into new bodily growth—increasing its muscle mass and density, or hardening its outer carapace like an organic diamond. When growing larger does not suit the Void-spawn’s needs, it vomits out the excess material as razor-sharp spines, leaving prey skewered and ready to feast upon later.

In other words, it is infinitely big or small. Cho'Gath can morph with ease. Some reports speak of a height of 55 meters

All this perfectly explains why Cho'Gath's abilities are what they are, with all their spikes and eating of enemies.
